The CO2 cold freezing method is used a specially designed outer layer wrapped around a pipe that needs to be frozen. The outer layer is connected to the liquid CO2 cylinder by a high pressure rubber hose. When liquid CO2 is injected between the outer layer and the pipe,It will swell at -78°C (-109°F) become to solid CO2 (dry ice) immediately.

The low temperature and fast freezing body forms a safe ice plug to block the pipeline. The ice plug is formed only in the part of the pipe covered by the outer layer, the pipe is almost without deformation, and there is no damage to the pipe.

Freezing Plugging Technology It can be safely used in iron pipes, lead pipes, stainless steel, copper pipes and plastic pipes.

The technical advantages of freezing plugging method saves drainage and refilling time, eliminates the need to completely shut down the system, stops the operation.   • Freezing Plugging Operation Steps

    General valve replacement application: The pipe fluid is at rest and the outer jacket (orange) #1 is wrapped around the upstream of the pipe. Inject liquid CO2 into the outer jacket then quickly freeze the fluid inside the pipe. That can be used to disassemble, repair or replace the valve when the second outer jacket #2 can be plugged that two-way fluid by freezing.


    Star freezing

    Open the air cylinder valve fully and inject liquid CO2 according to the pipe size and time. During freezing, dry ice will be dissipated around the pipe by indeed pressing the outer layer or tapping the outer layer with a rubber hammer.

  • Maintenance process

    When the liquid solidifies, ice will forms near the outer edge of the pipe. The pipe can be repaired by plugging the pipe with the frozen plug. A special injection will be taken every 15 minutes, which will keep the freezing time as long as possible. Special air cylinders are required. After completing the above repairs, the outer layer is removed to allow the pipe to be naturally thawed. You don't need to use a fire , fluid will return to normal operating temperature for a certain period of time.
